Oscar Predictions: October Update

Remember when I called September “The Calm Before The Storm.” I was wrong. The calm dragged on. November and December. That’s when all the big and important movies are released. Expect a lot more 2012 Movie Reviews in these coming months. ‘The Master’ came out and stage dived onto the floor with nobody to catch it, and I think I’ll wait until it goes on DVD before I see it. As for ‘Argo’, I have two reasons to believe that it’s not going to be a serious Oscar Contender. One, it doesn’t look like the serious movie that usually becomes an Oscar Contender, and Two, it’s from the director of ‘The Town’. That movie was supposed to be a big Oscar Contender, but only got one nomination. Unless this movie is really really good, I think it will fall to the wayside.

Okay, so you know, these predictions are almost identical to my September ones. The only change I made was adding ‘Cloud Atlas’ to a few categories. Watch this trailer and weep.

  1. Not bad, but a few corrections. “Gravity” is not coming out this year. And Amanda Bynes is not in “Les Mis”, it’s Amanda Seyfried. Anne Hathaway will most likely go Supporting for that too.
