Personal Post: R.I.P. Robin Williams

I’m actually out of town for a few days, and I promised my mom I wouldn’t post any blog posts during vacation. But when I heard about this, there was no way I wasn’t posting about this. I watched ‘Hook’, ‘Jumanji’, and ‘Aladdin’ an awful lot when I was younger. I always looked up to Robin Williams. He had a talent for being both a straight man and a comedic goldmine, while also doing some dramatic moments on the side. But as a kid, I just watched the comedy. He was my favorite actor for many years.

Now he’s gone, and it feels like a large part of my childhood went with him.

  1. This is a very nice tribute and I think a lot of people can relate. I loved Mork and Mindy when it came on, but it was also amazing to see him as a comedian (I still have his first album “Reality, What a Concept”). He was amazingly quick. A lightning fast improvisationalist. But it was truly amazing to watch the range he had in his movies. Incredibly funny, to very moving, to a few downright creepy portrayals. I loved the movie “Hook”. I thought it was underrated. It has a very sweet message. I also enjoyed another underrated movie “Bicentennial Man.” I think while his passing is very sad he lived a wonderful life full of wonderful experiences. And he left a fantastic legacy, especially of legacy of laughter. That’s a wonderful thing.
