Sing Street is a shock. Deadpool is probably only on to get ratings.

Kenneth Lonergan – Manchester By The Sea

This race looks like it’s coming down to Chazelle vs. Jenkins.

BEST ACTOR (Drama)

Casey Affleck – Manchester By The Sea

Andrew Garfield – Hacksaw Ridge
Viggo Mortensen – Captain Fantastic
Denzel Washington – Fences

Interesting that Mortensen got in this category instead of in Comedy.

Ryan Reynolds – Deadpool

I believe that Ryan Reynolds is the first person to ever be nominated for a Globe for playing a superhero. Good for him.

Ruth Negga – Loving
Natalie Portman – Jackie

And this was the moment I felt bad for Emily Blunt. Thankfully, I just had to wait two days to feel better.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson – Nocturnal Animals

Helburg is a shocker. I recently saw Nocturnal Animals, and I think I prefer Shannon’s performance just slightly over Taylor-Johnson.

I’m just gonna save some time and say that SAG chose this exact lineup. This might just be your Oscar five.

Nocturnal Animals is the only adapted screenplay in the lineup, which gives it the edge in being nominated for an Oscar.

In other news, Arrival is no longer eligible to be Oscar-nominated. But La La Land is, so it’s probably gonna win the Oscar.

Why is Sing Street nominated in the Picture category but not here? Also, it’s starting to look like ‘City Of Stars’ might just be our frontrunner.

No Finding Dory. That really worries me, since the Academy has a habit of not nominating Pixar when they know they’re not gonna give them the win. But I guess it doesn’t matter too much, as long as Zootopia walks away with the Oscar.

So, uh… no La La Land. There’s a big debate going on about what this means for te film’s Best Picture chances. Some people say it doesn’t mean anything, because the film is mainly Gosling and Stone, while others are quick to point out that Braveheart is the only film to win Best Picture without a SAG ensemble nomination. This category just got so much more interesting.

YAY EMILY BLUNT!!! I’m so thrilled to see her name pop up. She gave one of my absolute favorite performances of the year. In all honesty, I think this is a strong lineup.
