Tons of trailers coming out this month. Let’s go through them one at a time.
Twelve Years A Slave – Still a best picture contender, but will it seem too familiar to Academy members?
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire – I’ll put it in Best Makeup for now, but it’ll have to be really lucky to get in.
The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty – Could Stiller earn a Best Actor nod? I think it’s certainly possible, but I won’t be predicting him just yet.
American Hustle – Just about every site lists this as a major contender. I see it as this year’s The Master: all the hype will eventually be it’s downfall.
Her – Am I the only one who thinks this could actually be a contender for the big award? If this doesn’t bring Amy Adams an oscar, it could very well give Joaquin Phoenix one.
Monuments Men and Labor Day are just about the only contenders so far without any trailers. Hoping to see one soon! Also, at this point, I would like to go over which films I think look like early frontrunners for the win.

Yeah, these are just totally random. I’ve got guts predicting who’s going to be the early frontrunners, and while most of these are wishful thinking (I really want Adams to win an Oscar), I tried to be logical with these picks. I’m predicting Watts to win this because she’s the only one so far without an Oscar. Rooting for DiCaprio like everyone else.. but I have a strong feeling about Phoenix.
Boy! You have done a great job of selecting the different categories. I bet you will be correct too!
I like: Emma Thompson in nomination actress in a leading role; tom Hanks winner actor in a supporting role; Thomas newman winner original score.
