Gotham Award Nominations

This is our very first guild to talk about. Now, take everything that this guild says with a grain of salt, because they gave Moonrise Kingdom best picture last year.

BEST PICTURE

12 Years A Slave
Ain’t Them Bodies Saints
Blue Jasmine
Inside Llewyn Davis
Upstream Color

Best picture frontrunner.. movie with the most nominations.. 12 Years A Slave is totally winning this.

BEST DOCUMENTARY

The Act Of Killing
The Crash Reel
First Cousin Once Removed
Let The Fire Burn
Our Nixon

I heard a pretty good review for The Act Of Killing, so I’m guessing that wins.

BEST ACTOR

Chiwetel Ejiofer, 12 Years A Slave
Oscar Isaac, Inside Llewyn Davis
Matthew McConaughey, The Dallas Buyers Club
Robert Redford, All Is Lost
Isaiah Washington, Blue Caprice

Both Ejiofer are McConaughey are contenders for the win, but i think Ejiofer has the edge.

BEST ACTRESS

Cate Blanchett, Blue Jasmine
Scarlet Johansson, Don Jon
Brie Larson, Short Term 12
Amy Seimetz, Upstream Color
Shaileene Woodley, The Spectacular Now

If Blanchett loses this, I’ll jump off a cliff.

BREAKTHROUGH DIRECTOR

Ryan Coogler, Fruitvale Station
Adam Leon, Gimme the Loot
Alexandre Moors, Blue Caprice
Stacie Passon, Concussion
Amy Seimetz, Sun Don’t Shine

Coogler has this one in the bag.

BREAKTHROUGH ACTOR/ACTRESS

Dane DeHaan, Kill Your Darlings
Kathryn Hahn, Afternoon Delight
Michael B. Jordan, Fruitvale Station
Lupita N’yongo, 12 Years a Slave
Robin Weigert, Concussion

N’yongo seems to be the one most likely to be nominated for an Oscar, so I’ll vote for her.

Wouldn’t it be awesome if I got 6/6 on the first guild?
