“Alone Yet Not Alone” revoked. (And director’s guild)

I would actually be interested to meet somebody who has seen the film “Alone Yet Not Alone.” The film played for like a week in the middle of the United States before closing. It might be amazing for all we know. The academy certainly thought so, because they nominated it for an Oscar. But it looks like there may have been some foul play going on here, because the songwriter was actually a member of the Academy. As such, academy voters were pressured into revoking the nomination. There are now only four nominees.

Works for me. Now I don’t have to see it.

Oh, in other news, Alfonso Cuaron wins the DGA. No surprise there.
