Both of these awards were announced on back-to-back days. I thought it would save time to quickly cover them in one post. Real quickly, let’s go over the winners.

So, the Best Actor race is tied up (between McConaughey and Redford), and so is Best Documentary. (Between Act Of Killing and Stories We Tell) But the big selling point of the night is American Hustle. The film is starting to do some major awards campaigning. While we’ve all been caught up in the “12 Years vs Gravity” battle, could American Hustle potentially steal it all? I don’t know, I think i’m just gonna wait to see how good it is before I start calling it Best Picture material.

Even though I haven’t actually seen any of these movies yet, I am very pleased with these winners. Mainly because Her is a movie that I’ve been rooting for since I saw the trailer.
Oh, and also, a special award called ‘Most Innovative Film’ went to Gravity. The movie’s first award of the season – and there WILL be more.
So, what do you think? Does American Hustle or Her have a shot at winning the big award? Write your thoughts in the comments.
